Living in a 400sq ft flat in Mong Kok with two cats — you can imagine the litter situation. The old box had to go in the bathroom and the smell was constant no matter what litter I used. CATPAK Pro completely solved this. It seals the waste compartment really well, I only smell anything when I open it to change the bag. Size-wise it's bigger than a standard litter box but the enclosed design means it doesn't look ugly in the corner of my living room. App control means I can manually trigger a clean cycle when guests are coming over. The only design flaw is the power cord — wish it was a bit longer or had a right-angle plug for tight spaces. But honestly for HK apartments this thing makes life so much easier.
I'll admit it — I thought these were a gimmick. My colleague kept raving about hers so I finally ordered one. The unboxing experience alone is impressive, everything's packed really well. Installation is straightforward, the app detected the device immediately. What surprised me most is the build quality — it doesn't feel like cheap plastic, the drum is solid and the seals are tight. My cat is usually suspicious of new things but she started using it within 24 hours. The silent motor claim is legit, I have it in my home office and it doesn't bother me during calls. Three months of daily use and it still runs like new. If it holds up for a year I'll be a customer for life.
Okay so the initial setup with the WiFi was NOT smooth. Took me nearly an hour and I had to reset the thing 3 times before it would connect to my 5GHz network. The instructions could definately be clearer on that part. Once I got past that tho, everything else has been fantastic. The scooping mechanism is smooth, my two cats use it without hesitation, and the app gives me way more data than I need but I kinda enjoy checking it lol. The silent motor claim is accurate — I literally have to check the app to know if it ran. Would be 5 stars if the onboarding was less frustrating.
I was skeptical about spending this much on a litter box. Like, it's a box for cat poop. But after travelling for work constantly and relying on my neighbour to check on my cat, I gave in. The CATPAK Pro has been running for 4 months now. The app lets me check remotely if everything's working, which gives me peace of mind when I'm away. Setup wasnt too bad, tho I had to factory reset once because the wifi pairing failed the first time. My only real complaint is that the app sometimes takes a few seconds to refresh the status, and the waste drawer indicator can be off by a day. Overall build quality is excellent, feels premium like it should at this price.
Okay so I've had this for half a year now and here's the unvarnished truth. Pros: It works. The auto-scooping mechanism genuinely keeps the litter clean. The app notifications work. It's quiet — like, surprisingly quiet. My cat didn't mind it at all. Cons: It's big. Make sure you measure your space because the photos online make it look smaller than it is. The waste bin is a bit small — they advertise a week for one cat but realistically I change it every 4 days. The proprietary bags are overpriced but you can kinda fudge it with regular bags if you're careful. Would I buy it again? Yeah probably. It's not magical but it does what it says.
It works. Auto-scoops reliably, hasnt jammed in the 3 months Ive owned it, motor is quiet. The app connects fine and tells me what I need to know. Is it worth the high price tag? Debatable. Its a well-built product but at the end of the day its still a litter box that scoops itself. I think they could strip out some of the app features nobody asked for and bring the price down. The health monitoring stuff feels like bloatware — I just want to know when the drawer is full. Solid product if you have money to spend and hate scooping. Not life-changing.
My cat Luna is my entire personality at this point so naturally I bought her the most expensive litter box on the market and honestly? zero buyer's remorse. The CATPAK Pro is sleek, doesnt look like a spaceship landed in my apartment. The app sends me a notification every time she uses it and yes I check it every time like a weirdo. It tells me her weight (4.1kg, very stable, thank you for asking), how long she spent in there, and tracks patterns over time. The auto-clean cycle is quiet enough that it doesn't wake me up even though it's in my bedroom (Hong Kong apartment life). Setup needed a second try on wifi pairing but after that it's been solid. If you're the type of person who has a spreadsheet for your cat's food, you'll love this.
Look, the product itself is excellent. Auto-scooping works great, the silent motor really is silent (I have it in my studio apartment, zero disturbance), and the app gives you all the info you could want. My cat took to it immediately. The reason for 4 stars is purely the price — its a LOT for what is essentially a motorized rake in a plastic box. I get that R&D costs money and the app development is ongoing, but I think they could knock a fair price off the price and still make good margin. That said, if you have the budget, you wont be disappointed with the performance. Just… prepare your wallet.
I have a very picky Persian who would literally protest-pee on my bed if her litter box wasnt pristine. Since getting the CATPAK Pro, zero incidents. The thing scoops within minutes of her leaving the box. The app is actually useful — I can check her bathroom patterns when Im traveling and my pet sitter just has to empty the drawer once a week. The silent motor means she doesnt get startled mid-business which was a problem with my old automatic box. Honestly the best purchase I made for her this year.
I genuinely forget we even have a litter box now. It just... works. Walk past it, maybe check the app once a week to see the waste level, change the bag when it beeps. That's it. The cats figured it out in 2 days. My Persian who is notoriously picky about his bathroom? No issues. The ionizer/deodorizer system actually does something — I was skeptical but you really can't smell anything. Setup was maybe 20 minutes including downloading the app and creating an account. Wi-fi pairing took two tries but that's normal for IoT stuff. Had it since January, no breakdowns, no error codes, nothing. Just silent reliable operation.
Wanted to wait until I'd used it for a year before reviewing. Bought July 2025 and it's now July 2026. Zero breakdowns. Zero. I've done basic maintenance — wiping down the sensors every couple months, deep cleaning the drum once — and it runs like day one. The motor hasn't gotten louder, the app still connects instantly, the weight sensors are still accurate (confirmed at vet visits). This is what a premium product should be. My only ongoing cost is waste drawer liners and I buy the third-party ones in bulk for cheap. If you're on the fence, the durability is there. This isn't a gadget that dies after 6 months.
Don't get me wrong — this product eliminates daily scooping which is amazing. But every 2-3 months you need to do a deep clean of the drum and interior, and it's more involved than I expected. You have to disassemble several parts, the drum is heavy and awkward to wash in a standard shower, and there are crevices where litter dust accumulates. It takes me about 45 minutes start to finish. The results are worth it — the box smells fresh and works like new after — but I wish the design made deep cleaning easier. Daily use is 5 stars, maintenance is 3 stars, so I'm splitting the difference at 4. Still recommend for anyone who hates scooping.
I've owned both the Litter-Robot 4 and now the CATPAK Pro for about 3 months. The CATPAK is quieter, seals odors better, and the app is miles ahead — better UI, faster response, more useful data. The waste drawer design is smarter too, easier to line and change. Litter-Robot would sometimes get stuck mid-cycle and I'd come home to a half-rotated globe trapping my cat out. Hasn't happened once with CATPAK. The build quality feels more premium too, less creaky plastic. Only thing Litter-Robot does better is availability of replacement parts, but CATPAK support shipped me a new carbon filter within 3 days when I asked. If you're comparing the two, go CATPAK.
Bought for my wife who was tired of scooping. Took me 20 minutes to set up including getting the app paired. Works flawlessly 2 months in. Cat took about 3 days to get used to it — just leave the old box nearby and let them switch on their own. The health monitoring is a nice bonus, tracks weight and bathroom frequency which actually helped us catch a UTI early. Recommend.
I specifically bought this because my previous automatic litter box (different brand, wont name names) had a motor that sounded like a garbage disposal and scared my cat so badly she started going outside the box. The CATPAK Pro motor is genuinely silent. Im talking "is this thing even on?" silent. My cat doesnt even look up when it cycles. That alone makes it worth the price for me. The auto-scooping is effective, the app is fine (I barely use it except to check drawer status), and the build quality feels premium. The multi-cat thing I cant speak to since I have one cat, but everything else delivers. Four months in, no issues.
The litter box itself works brilliantly — quiet motor, clean sifting, cats love it, zero odor. BUT the WiFi module is flaky. It disconnects from my network every few days and I have to power cycle the unit to get it back online. Without WiFi you lose the app features (notifications, remote control, health tracking) but the box still runs its scheduled clean cycles locally, so it's not a total fail. I've tried moving my router closer, assigning a static IP, switching to a dedicated 2.4GHz SSID — still drops occasionally. CATPAK support says a firmware update is coming. When it stays connected it's a 5-star product. Right now it's a 4.
I researched automatic litter boxes for like 2 months before buying. Read every review, watched every YouTube comparison. Was so worried about spending this much and getting a lemon. Pulled the trigger on the CATPAK Pro because the brushless motor and the different scooping mechanism (rotating globe vs linear rake) seemed more reliable on paper. Turns out the research was right. Six months in with zero malfunctions. The globe rotation is smooth, the sifting is thorough, and the waste compartment keeps odors locked down. App is reliable — I use it mainly for the drawer full alert and to check that the cycle completed when Im away. Multi-cat recognition distinguishes my 9lb and 14lb cats perfectly. If you are on the fence, this is the one to get.
Took me 3 months of debating before pulling the trigger because this is objectively a lot of money for a toilet for your cat. But I travel for work 2-3 days every week and the peace of mind is real. My cat sitter comes every other day now instead of daily because the box takes care of itself. The app lets me check that everythings working remotely — once I noticed the drawer was full while I was in Tokyo and could tell the sitter to swing by. Multi-cat recognition would be wasted on me (one cat household) but the core functionality is flawless. Motor is silent, scooper hasnt jammed once in 6 months. No regrets.
Had the CATPAK Pro for about 5 months. 95% of the time it works perfectly. Every couple weeks though, it'll stop mid-cycle and the app says "cat detected" when there's no cat anywhere near it. I think dust on the sensors causes it because wiping them with a dry cloth fixes it immediately. Once this happened while I was away for the weekend and the box was stuck half-rotated — luckily my neighbor could reset it. It's a minor issue but for the price I expect fewer glitches. Support was responsive and suggested the sensor cleaning routine. No problems since I started cleaning them weekly. Overall a good product, just needs a bit more maintenance than I expected.
had this for 7 months, use it daily with 1 cat. the auto scooping has not jammed a single time. the motor is quiet (my apartment is 500sqft and i never hear it cycle). the app is simple — sends me a push notification when the drawer is full which happens about every 10 days with my cat. setup took maybe 10 minutes total. the build quality feels solid, heavy base means it doesnt budge when my cat jumps in and out. for the price i was nervous but its paid off in convenience. i literally never think about cat waste anymore except when my phone buzzes to change the drawer. thats exactly what i paid for so 5 stars.
Had this for about 5 months now. The auto-scooping is legit, works consistently and the motor really is whisper quiet — my cat used to be terrified of loud appliances but he doesnt bat an eye at this. App is decent, tho sometimes the notifications are delayed by like 30 seconds which isnt a big deal but you notice it. The weight sensors for multi-cat are mostly accurate but once in a while it confuses my two cats if theyre similar weight. Setup was easy, maybe 15 minutes. Waste drawer liner system is clever, makes cleanup simple. Would give it 5 stars if the app was a bit snappier and the cat recognition was 100%.
I'm a software engineer so I have very low expectations for IoT apps but the CATPAK Pro app is genuinely well designed. Clean UI, notifications are timely, the per-cat health dashboard is more useful than I expected. You can see weight trends, frequency patterns, even duration of visits. Helped me catch a UTI in my senior cat early because I noticed he was visiting the box 6-7 times in an hour but not producing much. Brought that data to my vet and she was impressed. The box itself is well built, the rake mechanism feels robust, not flimsy like some cheaper auto boxes I tried before. Setup: follow the QR code, no drama. Motor noise is basically nonexistent — I've had computer fans louder than this thing.
